2/14/2024 0 Comments Qbittorrent dark themeLocking this as there are enough open discussions about themes already, which is why this was closed long ago in the first place. There is currently a list in the wiki documenting known unofficial themes. For example, the theme linked in this comment ( #8822 (comment)) is made by the very same person who implemented the unofficial themeing functionality in qBittorrent.įinally, a rest to my eyesight! So, is this an official theme? Are there any others to check out? Just to call this case closed.Īs mentioned, these themes are unofficial. I should note that some themes are not only free software, they are actually made by qBittorrent contributors, which should ease concerns about trustworthiness. If, on the other hand, you choose to trust a binary from some random forum on similar, that's your responsibility, and any damage resulting from that is on you. The "safety" paradigm is exactly the same - at the end of the day, anyone can inspect the source and build themselves. Īs for the "potentially unsafe part", they are as safe as any other free software project, so this is a moot point. Furthermore, this page documents how they are made, and how to make one yourself. Unofficial theme support actually a feature that was recently implemented precisely to address the demand for themeing on platforms that don't natively support system wide (dark) themes, like Windows, while "official dark theme" is not implemented. Perhaps unintentionally, this comment reads like FUD. Given that unofficial, possibly unsafe, installers are popping up to satisfy the demand for dark themes, this should become a priority for the official qBittorent team. You are welcome to do it yourselves, all qBittorrent users would be thankful. No reason? Yes there is, and it is very simple: no one is making that contribution. It's 2020 there is absolutely no reason for qBittorrent to not have a native dark theme. Specifically DARK themes, and specifically Monokai! Windows 11 22H1 and above qBitTorrent on Qt5 Using. Download theme here and download Mica for Everyone here. V4.6.0 has too many bugs.įeature request to get Native Windows OS Dark Theme applied is still open.We need OFFICIAL theme files. Windows 11 theme for qBitTorrent with Mica for Everyone P.S. Longer wait time would be better, can only guess and hope enough users help to test and report regressions before stable version gets released. When v4.6 development started, it was developed for a very long time, so v5.0 most likely won't be made stable before 6~18 months. Even the milestones page doesn't mention anything newer yet than v5.0. There's no separate GitHub branch for v5.0 or newer, so various code changes are experimented on the default main master branch and most things merged will be included in v5.0 whenever it's ready, some things might not work or get reverted if someone discovers annoying bug early enough. The integrated new default setting isn't even backported into v4.6.x branch and won't be even considered before Qt developers release Qt6.5.4, Qt6.6.1, or Qt6.7.0 to get various important fixes to very old annoying glitches when dark mode support is enabled.Īlpha and Nightly builds are considered experimental, for all software, not just qBit. The changelog on the official News page doesn't even mention the v5.0.0alpha1 release. Not much tests or discussions yet.īecause there are no direct download links to v5.0.0alpha1 without having to log in to GitHub. The latest v5.0 default Fusion Style enabling code was shared long ago here: So you could create a fork in GitHub and try it in your own modified v4.6.0 forked build, can also experiment if building with various Qt versions make qBit or the Fusion Style behave or look different. To get new kind of qBit default theme without using workarounds you could open official download page, select to download nightly version, login to GitHub and then you can see download links. If you want newer SoulSeek, then there's a modified interface called Nicotine+: So if you use older qBittorrent or modify to use older Qt dependency version, then forcing different theme will make qBit look different aswell, different OS might also affect how things look. SoulSeek uses Qt 5.11.2 on Windows by default, so not a fair comparison if your qBit uses something newer. I'm not sure if Fusion Style and forcing dark theme support look entirely the same.
